Taiwan 7 April 2013

Today I left Kaohsiung for Chiayi via the rail. I would be visiting Alishan for a one night stay and a second attempt for sunrise the next day.

The first thing I did after checking in Alishan Xinxin Minsu was to get a rail ticket on the Shen-Mu Rail. The last time I visited, the rail was down and I followed the deserted rail tracks, which on hindsight seemed a tad dangerous for a single female traveller. But it was quite a nice stroll to be honest. Now that the trains are back in action, I wanted to experience the same route in a different way.

After taking the short ride up and a stroll down back towards the guesthouse, I had dinner at the stalls across 7-11 before heading back to my room. I had to rest early tonight so that I could wake up at 4am tomorrow for the sunrise.
